Once again I am horrible at keeping a blog, however I am putting another entry in.
I was once again reading my “Eating Clean for Dummies”, and it was talking about shopping properly and some tips for that. Along with eating a meal more full of nutrients to be able to be full for longer. Whereas if you eat fast food you will be hungry earlier. My brain knew this already but never really understood until this past weekend. My fiancĂ© and I went and ate at a popular breakfast restaurant. Their food is almost as clean as you can get it. Fresh fruit, all food made in house mostly from scratch ( not sure about the English muffin I had). I hate a plate full of eggs Benedict with spinach and caramelized onions in between the egg and muffin. Along with roasted potatoes and a bunch of fruit. Also chicken sausage on the side. I was full the rest of the day, I only ate again because I was supposed to. Now compare that to a place like smittys. Where a waffle from their mix and syrup, or even a waffle and strawberry sauce like I usually have. I am usually hungry again not long after.
There is a huge difference and I need to learn this again and again. Not only for the weekends but also for the week. Get up earlier to make a good breakfast full of proteins and carbs needed to go on for the day. Include a lunch that has all the essentials so that I am not hungry by the end of the work day. I have cut out a lot of my fast food, sadly it means we are eating more at restaurants.
I really do need to do more prep for the week.. Take out chicken in the morning to cook or BBQ. So make sure more whole foods are in the house. Once again I am trapped since I seem to live in two places.
Knowing and applying are completely different things. I will get there!
